When practicing tell time help students:

• Look at where the hour hand (the shorter hand) and the minute hand (the longer hand) are pointing

• To always find which number first before the hour hand,  when telling time to the half-hour. NOT after (this is the difference between, 3:30 and 4:30 as an answer.

• Look at and write the time of analog clocks (circular clocks with hands) and digital clocks (only showing the numbers)

 

Telling time also means knowing the months of the year in order and the days of the week in order.
